October 5, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
FreeEvent Navigation
This short (~2.4km/1.5 mile) walk will involve a walk from the car park at the base of clough, up the clough and onto Inchfield Pasture at the top of the clough, returning along the same route. Through the beautiful woodland and open moorland we will see an array of rocks and other landforms, such as landslides, and learn about the fascinating geological history of Calderdale and the surrounding area. We will follow footpaths but the terrain can be rough, steep and slippy and therefore appropriate footwear and outdoor clothing will be required. The walk will take around 2-3 hours. Please meet Gareth Martin from West Yorkshire Geology Trust in the car park at the base of Gorpley Clough, Bacup Road, Todmorden (SD9185223532, OL14 7HH). A detailed PDF guide can be found on the West Yorkshire Geology Trust’s website at:
