Join Peachysteve from Halifax Scientific Society and Hugh Firman on a 3 mile walk through the upper Shibden valley to hunt for some of our busiest insects – bumblebees.  Bumblebee numbers are declining nationwide so come alond and find out more about what you can do to help.  We’ll also be looking for the flowers that bumblebees and other insects love and maybe even spot a few butterflies.  We will finish the walk at Dove Cottage, a local plant nursery and show garden where you can buy bumblebee friendly plants.  Entry feee is £3 to the show garden, entry to the nursery is free.  Refreshments usually available so please bring some cash with you if you want to purchase anything.  Meet outside the Mereside cafe in Shibden Park (car parking costs £1) at 14.00. No dogs please.
