DESCRIPTION:Meet Alison Tymon from West Yorkshire Geology Trust at the front of St Thomas the Apostle church\, Heptonstall\, HX7 7NT at 11.00 (grid reference SE 987 280) for a short walk (c. 0.5 mile)around the village and visit to Hell Hole Quarry to study the use of Millstone Grit sandstones as building materials.  Please note that there are some very steep steps into the quarry so route is not suitable for very young children or people with mobility problems.
